Rule 1:5:4

I have a question about rule 1:5:4 players equipment. If the catchers helmet is not legal and he will not change it he will be ejected. My question is this? Is there any penalty to the coach for allowing his player to take the field with illegal equipment?
I have searched but if there is such a rule and penalty I'm missing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
