Why is it your problem now? There are NFHS rules for dealing with a batter who steps in the box with an illegal bat and for dealing with the HC. The rule enforcement has not changed.

The coaches get the same info we get, maybe more. If a player steps in with an illegal bat, he's cheating. Take care of cheaters.

Take care of cheaters by letting him cheat or not?

Illegal Bats/Equipment

Texas Association of Sports Officials has given us cards for the coaches/representatives to sign at the plate attesting to the proper equipping of players and their equipment being legal.

Oh jimminy, they carried that insanity over from football to baseball? I sure hope they leave basketball alone.

Maybe the UIL/TASO battle will heat up again and give the TASO board a distraction.

From what we have been told it's for all HS baseball games regardless of level. We have several football officials in our chapter and football had to get them signed for this year too.

So the verbal statement before two officials and the opposing coach wasn't enough, now they want a paper trail to certify qualifications for a game played by children?
Even MLB doesn't go this crazy, that I know of.

PIAA bulliten

I just received an email from PIAA stating the 33" Marucci and Reebok Vector had been de-classified by the NCAA and are listed as non-compliant bats and are not to be used in PIAA member school contests!

The wheels turn slower in some places...

Ohio isn't usually a "fast track," but we had the announcements the day after NFHS declassified them.

How did you penalize before if you checked the bats, but someone asked after one was used? Same answer this year. IF you see the kid brinign one to the plate, stop him before he enters the box. If he enters the box, enforce the penalty.

OK Thanks - Sounds like fun. Everytime a white Marucci is used during a game I must inspect to make sure the size is not 33/30.
