Hi,
I'd like to find out how to get started as an Ump in Northern VA. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

At what level?

If it's youth, contact your local Little League or park district.

If it's HS, contact your local HS and ask what association they use, or contact the Virginia HS Association (the name might vary from that a little -- it's the organization to which HSs belong)

Mid Atlantic Officials - Umpires.org John Porter is the supervisor. They call everything from recreational to college.

Presuming you are in the DC Metro version of "Northern Virginia" [outer limits aprox. Loudoun & PW Counties] these are the guys. If you are in the Valley ["Greater Winchester"], things are a bit more fragmented: individual Leagues for LL/ Ripkin/ BRBB, Winchester UA for HS; Porter's guys [MAC] handle the NCAA.

And since you titled your OP "Umpire schools ..." I should note that MAC runs [or at least used to run] a really excellent rookie school/ program for newbs which was worth attending even if you never took assignments there.

Umpire This Fall in Northern Virginia

Hello,

I am interested in umpiring baseball or softball in Northern Virginia this fall. Does anyone know any local leagues, youth-adult who need umpires?

Thanks,
Andrew
