McCarver Strikes Again.
I think it was in the same Berkman at bat with a 2-1 count and the pitch came in for a called strike 2. F2 dropped the pitch and McCarver said that the pitch can't be called a strike because F2 dropped the pitch, .

Do you pay attention to a lot of internet umpires that say the same thing- not cleanly caught = ball.

I always ask them how a D3K could happen then if the batter doesn't swing. That usually (not always) shuts them up.

I can't believe that I'm defending Timmy, but...

Didn't he actually say something like, "If the catcher drops that pitch (a borderline outside pitch), the umpire usually won't call it a strike"?

So...... McCarver was right for a change, umpires usually don't call borderline pitches strikes that a catcher boxes. What is wrong with that statement?
