Question
I'm just a lowly fastpitch softball ump but I saw something I never saw before today.I was watching the Dodgers and Mets in Mexico City and the umps had some kind of black strap hanging out of their hand on the bases.Does anyone know what that was?

That black strap could have been a stop watch. Usually the third base umpire has a sop watch for the comercial breaks.
