Does it still hurt...
Just curious... got hit twice today in the, ahem, bad spot.
I wear a Nutty Buddy. Should it still hurt a bit at the time of impact? I'd say about 3-5 minutes later I felt fine. Just curious if this is common or I'm wearing it incorrectly somehow. Its always snug and never moves around. |

I've been drilled before, but not w/ my new Nutty Buddy...and I've never felt anything...watch for swelling...if the boys start to look like softballs, probably should head into the doc.

Kind of depends on how you get hit. I've had untouched pitches come straight in and hit me square in the front of the cup hard enough that the ball rebounded almost back to the mound. This was with a run-of-the-mill cup and there was no ill-effect.
By the way, that seems to be the kind of shot demonstrated in the Nutty Buddy video. The flipside is the ball that bounces and comes up at an angle, catching you "up underneath" on the small end of the cup. Those seem to drive the end of the cup right up into...well, you know where. Those have induced the familiar "curl up in a fetal position and feel like I'm going to pass out or puke" response and put me on the ground for a few minutes. |
