I've used this protector for nothing but D1 ball for 5 years and I have nothing but praise for it. When I bought it I had tried the WV gold and platinum but found them too constricting around my neck. The main reason I went for a protector of this type was for collarbone protection, and I've not been disappointed.
And I, too, removed the biceps protectors. JJ

I wear this for high school and have taken some solid shots. No apprehension about wearing this protector.
Got mine for 60 bucks at Western Athletic Supply (no longer in business) about 5 years ago.
