Bill Hughes is a tool for trying to blame Davis for his inability to find home plate.

Anybody that is a Yankee is a tool including the front office brass.

Pettite is the only class player on that team

So, we'll just assume this is a joke, or simply the banal ramblings of a typical Yankee hater. You don't steamroll the American League and land in the World Series without your share of classy players.

(I neither love nor hate the Yankees.)

You seem to be confusing talent and class.

I suppose Pettite was higher on the list of classy players when he wasn't a confirmed juicer. I guess admitting it after you're caught at it is classier than cheating and then lying about it.

Mariano Rivera, José Molina, Hideki Matsui, C.C. Sabathia, Mark Teixeira, Derek Jeter, Nick Swisher ... these are classy guys. They'd be at home on any winner. I don't see why their dreaded uniform and all its trappings should cloud that.

Is this in any way similar to a "typical Red Sox hater," or a "typical Dodger hater?" Just what is a "typical" Yankee hater? Do they have some special characteristic just because they hate the Yankees, which BTW is totally understandable?

That's exactly the counterpoint: They ARE on the Yankees, not any other team, so many folks hate their guts just for that alone. Guilt by association. BTW, you conspicuously left Axelrod off the list. Any particular reason?
