Listen, at MLB, MiLB, NCAA level, yes, you let it go.

If he says it not directed at me, in the confines of the dugout, I'm letting it go.

If he is on the top step looking right at me when he yells it, bye bye. This isn't a game changing EJ either, this is a slimey bench coach who can go have an early beer. In the video, did Torre seem to care?

You look like you are soft if you don't, and it will only get worse from there as your reputation of being a pushover follows you. Then you'll get some real headaches, don't you think?

Maybe its different depending on how long you've been around. Steve, perhaps if they yell at you, you have a relationship with that team for several years and you know things won't get out of hand. They know you, they know where you draw the line, and there is some mutual understanding.

For someone who is new to that league, those players are TESTING. And PU should rise to the test and grow a pair.

Added in the edit: For rec league amateur ball... not talking about higher levels here.

I am "new" to this league, as I haven't done this league in about 18 years or so. I tossed someone for drawing a line in inning 5 of my first game. I threw another the next week for language and bat/helmet throwing. I do not want to get myself banned from the league because I throw everyone out like some kind of hothead, so I'm not about to throw someone out just for yelling "bullsh*t" from the dugout, no matter how they are standing, or sitting, or facing, or whatever. You do what you want in your games. If I threw everyone who deserved it out, I would soon find myself without my $300 weekend, and I need that money. I will give warnings for language that isn't personal in nature.

This league has about 100 teams in it, in 11 separate divisions, so I'm not going to see the same players week after week on a regular basis. But one of the goals this league is striving for is to keep the players in the game as much as possible (since they pay a lot of money to play), so in this particular league, I have a slightly higher threshold than I normally do. I will jack them in a heartbeat if they get personal or prolonged. If they get physical, it's an automatic 3 game or permanent suspension, so I don't worry about that. Trust me, nobody mistakes me for being "weak." I dress them down even if I don't toss them from the game, and they learn that I won't stand for further shenanagins.

So anytime they say something that should get them run, it should get them run. Why make it more complicated. There is a way to give more rope, this isn't one of them.

Squash them like f****** bugs.

This essentially says it all.
