My new Reeboks, however, are even more comfortable and feel lighter. Right now, I consider them quite simply the best plate shoe I have ever worn and my past collection includes spot-bilt (two pair) (way back in the day), Davis (two pair), PlusPos, Honigs(two pair), NB's and now Reebok.

I just received my NB plate shoes today. I can see what you mean about them being difficult to lace; they are a bit difficult to get on, but they felt very comfortable. I'll find out for sure when I work my first game.

I would recommend putting some gel insoles in them. I found that they didn't have a lot of cushion and arch support.

I had my first plate with them Monday. They felt like base shoes. Very nice.

And Kevin: Your model paint technique worked well on the "N" logos.

I noticed this when I first purchased them in early 2008. I had to order not a half size but a full one size larger just to get them on. I was using and breaking shoe horns to get my size 11.5 feet into these size 12.5 shoes. Frustrating to say the least.

And lacing them? Just hope you don't have to do this right before a game or you could be spending a half hour struggling to get the laces in these dang things.

Every pair of Reeboks I have ever tried have been way too narrow for me, while the 2E's or 4E's of the NB's are perfect. If they have made the shoes better great for them! But color me unconvinced at this point.

Unfortunately, Reebok has canceled plans to manufacture these shoes in extra wide or extra, extra wide (2E or 4E). They have stated that the "D" width is the widest in which they will offer these.

Really? Mine are double E.

I didn't say they can't be found anymore in those larger sizes, I just meant that they're not being made anymore. When I read this on Gerry Davis's site, I contacted Reebok, and their explanation was that Gerry Davis Sports is correct. Whatever stock resellers have of the 2E and 4E sizes are the only ones that will be available. Once those are gone, only the "D" widths will be obtainable.

Okay, so I confused what you meant to say (Reebok has decided not to continue manufacturing the shoe in EE and 4EE) with what you said, (Reebok decided not manufacture the shoe in EE and 4EE).

Gotcha.

Well, then that counts out a lot of people like me who now simply can't even wear the show. I suppose I'll never get to wear the vaunted Reebok plate show.

For baseball, no, nobody cares. It's the softball association that wants solid black shoes. I wish it was different but that's softball for you...
