Did anyone ever use this mask

Just curious. I remember when they first came out it was all the rage (like the new Titaniun is now) a friend who retired gave me his, but I never wore it. I was surprised to see a new one going for $117 on ebay.

Still got one. Only use it in warm waether or for summer ball. They have been known to crack when hit be a college level pitch.

I would never trust it. I know a guy who uses one and he loves it, but the original reason the company had problems was because of the accidents that resulted from what Charlie described.

I had one, until I got a concussion with it. It's very light, but has very poor visibility through those thick bars. My Schutt is lighter.

It's a collectors item, and should just be collecting dust in the bottom of your bag.

i was enamored with them especially after eric gregg, al clark, larry barnett, and greg kosc used them at the major league level ... and then i watched my partner get hit square in the chops and the mask spun off his head and nearly landed on the far side of the pitchers mound. i guess they were designed to do this but pretty scary. i wasn't enamored with it anymore.

When worn properly, all masks should do this.

^^^^ Agreed, I have had the same thing happen with my Diamond DFM-UMP. Also, I have members of my HS association that still wear the second/improved version of the +POS mask and love them.

my .02

I believe the one that is pictured is the 200 model which is the newer (read replacement) model from the one that had the structural problems....

I have a partner who has worn one of these and swears by it...it certainly is light....and recently the parsons family (the seller identified in the ebay link) has been selling some of the remaining stock of the newer versions on ebay and he picked up another new one....

I that one a few years ago. As others have mentioned, it has poor visability and has been known to crack.

Thanks, I was just wondering. I woudn't use it because of those thick bars and the one he gave me needs a new harness, but I remember when some MLB umps used them and it was "the mask to have" in the assoc.
Im thinking about a getting a titanium for this spring.
