No Time Out

Men's league, American League rules. R2 and R1 after a single (ball is still live). Pitching change, w/ no time out. F6 runs off of the field to take off his white undershirt and pitch. R1 leaves the base to go to the dugout.

Can R1 be put out in this situation?

Explain how you can have a pitching change without timeout being called. Let's see....the coach notifies the umpire that there's a pitching change....players change positions...the new pitcher takes his warmups....

It SHOULD read

Let's see....the coach notifies the umpire there will be a pitching change....TIME!....etc, etc, etc.

There has never been a pitching change (ESPECIALLY mid-inning with runners on base) in any game I've ever worked where time has not been called. Or any game I've ever heard of. Until your post.

So the question is moot.

The coach is F6, on the field. I ask the question because I have never seen it myself!

If I saw these events beginning to unfold, I would call time. If something goofy happened, I would have simply said, "I had time".
If you have never heard of it either, from whence doth thy query originate?

Men's league games tend to provide ample fodder for "things that make you go HMMMM!" I (BU) did not call time because if the runners had realized that time was not called they could have advanced.

No, they could not have. time was out (whether specifically declared by you or not).
