Well, leave it to the journalists at ESPN to say they did...

All they do is stir up controversy over there....

Thanks.

Sounds like you're trying to stir up controversy over here.

And gladly.

Yes I have seen an apology for that behavior. Bob Boone, while managing the reds, told the umpire after he got tossed (during the argument) that if he was wrong he would issue a public apology, and he did the next day.

Then why is there so much pressure on high school coaches to win?? It's not their fault. It's the fault of those around them. If they don't win then they lose their jobs. That's why they get so pissed off when we miss one. Especially in high school and college where one win could affect the outcome of the season dramatically. In MLB at least they have 162 to take care of business.

2 of 4 the umpire missed one, and in the one where Hoye dumped him for not giving a warning, Hoye should've dumped the pitcher because he threw behind Mauer two times in a row and they had already had problems that series with hit batters. But that's a judgement call.
One game suspension. Guess it wasn't routine after all.

If a coach believes one call led to a loss, he's stupid. If a coach believes any umpire is perfect and doesn't miss one once in a while, he's an idiot, and probably shouldn't be influencing young men anyway.

It's not routine. That's the point.

However, the way he was ejected was something we can learn from. Quick, no emotion, wave of the hand, get out.
