Just a comment/question. Javi, a 5A catcher, equals our D1 catchers. As Carl does, we recruit these awesome kids as officials to supplement thier income and help them. What troubled me was Javi's comment of "looking to UIC(none other then Carl) and recieving 2 thumbs down." I really hope this honest kid was meaning Carl did this after the game, or does Carl do this with the whole crowd watching, knowing Carl is "da man". And don't give me any **** about this being a 9u game, I just wanna know. "2 thumbs down" in print means just that......chris

The techniques I use to train umpires work for me (and my students) and "two thumbs down" MIGHT be a metaphor for private signals. Move to Texas, apply at the Rising Star Baseball School, and all your questions will be answered.
