Red Sox on strike!

The Boston Red Sox were scheduled for a 12:00 PM EDT game in Fort Myers today against the Toronto Blue Jays. Almost an hour after the scheduled start, neither team has taken the field. The Sox were supposed to leave on a chartered flight to Japan at 5:30 PM EDT. They are miffed about bonuses for coaches, who they claim are not to receive the full $40,000.00 per man that the players will get.

Is this a grandstand play or much ado about nothing as the Red Sox have now taken the field and are preparing for a 1:10 PM EDT start?

The Jays got their game in, and won it 4-3 on a double from prospect Chip Cannon. Scott Rolen went 2 for 3 in the victory.

Looks like BJ Ryan may experience a few setbacks throughout the year. He's less than a year removed from Tommy John surgery and reported feeling soreness in his left elbow a couple days ago.
