Look for informations for equipement

Hello,

I'm French and with a friend we would like to play baseball, regrettably towards to me in France, there are no clubs, the baseball is not very popular. And there is no store which sell equipments (bats, gloves, balls, etc...). I wanted to know if somebody knew an interressant us website to buy the minimum necessities to begin to play? And what are the best gloves and the best bats to begin? If somebody could advise me.

Thank you very much for your help.

You're not likely to find much of a response here or at other officiating web-sites. I do know other European countries have baseball (Netherlands, for example). Perhaps you could try them to see how to get equipment to Europe.

You may want to look at the following European sites:

http://www.baseballsoftballuk.com/
this is the official site in England and has an on-line store

http://www.ffbsc.org/
The is the official French Baseball site. I trust it will have equipment supplier links on it.

Good luck!

There is another forum I frequent that is dedicated to the hobby of collecting antique and vintage baseball gloves. Several months ago, a poster from France wrote in asking for donations of baseball equipment for a club he was forming in a a French school. His wife is an American, and during a stint in the states he came to love the game of baseball. As a teacher, he got his students interested in the game and formed a team.

Here is the link to a recent post from him, detailing some of the progess he's made with his students.

His user name on the forum is "Moonlight Graham". You can search for all of his posts there to get the full story of his efforts to import the game of baseball to his students in France.

You could also post there if you have a message for him, or possibly contact him directly through that forum's instant messaging system
