D-1 umpiring was improved drastically under Yeast's time. Umpiring conditions and support also improved. He did what he was hired to do. We owe him plenty.

Any former MiLB umpires who wish to succeed on the college field would be well advised to leave their minor league issues on the minor league field.

I personally would have no problem working with Dave on the field, and I agree with others here who have mentioned what he did for umpires. Dave helped improve not only D-I umpiring but D-II and D-III as well. In short, he brought NCAA baseball umpiring into the 21st century in more ways than one.

Notice that I filled my name in the blank. Big deal. I can make the same generic statement about almost every umpire in the game. Name one who was worthless, and you don't owe a penny more.
