I just got the book out of storage (yeah, the closet). Yes he did have a son named Mickey. I just remember him talking about all the things in his daughter's life that he missed due to the ridiculous demands of MLB.

especially since he is in the HOF and argueably the greatest third baseman of all time..............

and in my neck of the woods in milb, every time someone would make an outstanding fielding play they would be greeted with the call of "way to go brooksie!"...........
