Crazy BOO

Now that we have some down time, here is a BOO situation that was posted on another message board quite some time ago.

*FED re-entry and DH rules

DH is designated as batting for the catcher in the 7th spot.

The first time through the lineup the DH bats and reaches first

The catcher bats (unnoticed) and reaches first base

The 8th spot batter walks.

Bases loaded with number 9 hitter coming up when defense now notices that the top of the order isn't happening.

What do we have here?

Looking at it with FED rules, I have an illegal substitution and illegal substitution super cedes batting out of order. Take the catcher off the base if he is still there and restrict to the bench.

yeah, but there seems to be multiple illegal subs here... since it pretty much cascaded down the order as everyone re-entered in the wrong spot.

so are all these guys out and restricted?

I'm sorry I didn't finish my answer. From what I can make of the situation, the catcher and the eight hitter should be taken off the bases and be restricted to the bench. Lead off hitter will be the legal batter. This is as far as I can tell from what I have read.

OK, since you have an obvious disregard for FED rules, let's change the scenario so that DH is batting for the pitcher instead of catcher, as is allowed by OBR rules. Now answer the question.
