Any time you post?

I have said ridiculously stupid things on this forum many times, some of which were not funny at all. You manage to say stupid things quite often, even when you are being serious. How are we supposed to know when you're just kidding? Please follow your posts with "j/k" to let us tell the difference between when you say something stupid that you are serious about and when you are just trying to be clever.

Why should we have to look to your signature to see if you are joking. I find the folks at Dateline a bit intrusive to begin with, and they certainly are not even in a joking mood. It doesn't sound a thing like a joke or something funny.

Your post may have been intended to be funny, but it really missed the mark.

Here's an "unejection mechanic" just for you. Before the ejected coach leaves the field, ask him to bend over. Now that the coach is bent over, kiss his a$$ and tell him you are sorry and that he can remain in the game.

the only part of your comedy that made me laugh is the fact that you think these types of posts have any relation to comedy or that they could be considered jokes.

if we wanted unfunny 'jokes' posted on an umpire forum, id ask carlos mencia to post here.

I thought I was the only one who found Mencia to be very un-funny. Good to see I'm not alone.

I believe this is also done from the GD stance.

Oh and by the way make sure and get a picture of this and post it, so we can comment on it. This will be helpful in your futre as an umpire, emplyoee, politician etc.

Oh, I'm sorry I was only kidding!

This is actually done from the scissors stance, it is easier to get right into the slot that way.

Humor such as your last attempt is effective only AFTER you have sufficient experience with which to impress those readers whom do not have you on the /ignore/ list.

I haven't been on this board that long, but I will say this: knowing when you're kidding? It's not as easy as you might think. It's actually a little scary.

I think it would be best to learn the mechanic for unejecting someone, unlike the other time when I just said to the coach "you're back in the game". Can someone please tell me what the standard unejection mechnic is? Thanks.

I note, however, that you don't indicate which part was the "humor." I'm guessing it was the part where you were working a game involving the best players from Ontario.

Nope that wasn't a joke. http://www.pblo.ca/. I was going to do a doubleheader yesterday, but it got rained out. I drove 35 minutes to the park, found out no one was there, and am not getting a cent for it. They aren't even covering the gas costs. That is not a joke. Any of you guys get jerked around by the league like that?

And yes I am as much a high school umpire as one can be around here. I do a lot of 16-18 year old intercity games, which is just as good as high school would be down in the states, and what am I supposed to call that level of ball? It's not Little League because they are older and they are rep, it's not college, nor university. High school ball is the most accurate description because those guys are in high school.

Nope, that is why all games you do are through the association here.

You don't receive a phone call that the game is cancelled, you get paid by the association.

If you choose to go outside the association, you get what you get.
