missing first base

Came up in a dinner room discussion....

Bases loaded 2 outs.
Batter hits fly ball over centerfielders head.
Ends up with an "inside the park" HR.
Defense appeals that batter missed first base and BU agrees.
Do any runs count?
What if it was "over the fence" HR?
OBR.

BR is out for the 3rd out. He has not yet reached 1st base safely, therefore, no runs score. same ruling for either type of HR. same ruling for all rule codes

Here's something that might help. Be the first coach on your block that has one.

That's 10 bucks and a three day wait. This was free and got my answer in less than an hour. Me no coach baseball anymore, all my free NF books are long gone....

What if there were no outs at the time?

Then the other runs would count.

3 runs score. The BR is declared out for missing first base. One out. Play on.

runs would score and B/R out on appeal by defense. No appeal, play on.

the key to remember in a sitch like this is w/ two outs...a runner must legally reach 1B before any runs can score...that's why zero runs score.
