"But I Teach That Move"
After calling a balk on a RHP last night I heard one of the all time classic lines from a coach.
RHP with R2 and R3. Pitcher from set position lifts his free foot and knee to balance and completely hangs them. He looked like a statue for a full second before he decided to deliver the ball to the plate. I call the balk and out comes the manager. "Why'd you balk my pitcher?" I explain that he's not allowed to completely pause like he did once he begins his motion. You know, without hesitation, alteration, or interuption. "But I teach that move. No one else has ever called it." I just told him I guess I'm not everybody else. Have a safe holiday everyone! Tim. |
