$%#$%@ing Snow

I've had it. Really freaking had it.

I am working in Sacramento this week and right now Madison is getting hit with snow. 6-ish inches.

I worked 5 games between 3/24 and 4/1.

Last week I lost Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday due to COLD WEATHER.

I have college DH scheduled Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Looks like THESE are now in jeopardy.

AAARGH!

Hey Rich,

You got Sac & La Tech?

I was in Reno yesterday and it was great, I go back this weekend and it might be less than that. It started raining today in Sac, the high school games will probably be canceled for today by noon and it is snowing up the hill right now.

GL this weekend.

Nope, working the real job here. I'm just a lowly D3 and high school guy in Wisconsin/Illinois. Don't have time to pursue much else right now.

And wife said it's likely going to be 10 inches in all. Blah.

And that's what it takes for 10 inches to be expected...you out of town.

Be careful if its 12" - you then can call it a "foot"

Got about that a little north of you Rich.

Did you see the D3 game on Monday when they had a snow delay of 45 minutes? Players had to shovel and sweep the infield to resume.

Doesn't shock me. I got a call where they were looking for an umpire to finish a suspended game on Tuesday -- game was in the 11th -- followed by a single 9 and they were going to pay full DH rates.

Two weekends ago we worked a completion of a suspended game (45 minutes) followed by a single 9 on a field barely fit for play. They used Diamond Dry on the infield itself and it will be a while before that field is back to normal (probably next season). If it was a HS game, I would've taken the lineup cards and thanked them for the check and then cancelled it, but if the colleges want to go and I have to drive 2+ hours, we'll play. I'll just wash the mud off later.

Cool

I live in the NW suburbs of Chicago, and we typically get the weather Madison gets about two hours after they do, more or less. I just snapped this photo in my backyard.

Had a double header last Saturday cancelled due to cold. Worked a "chilly" game on Monday. Scheduled to work "singles" tomorrow & Friday, and a DH on Saturday. All doubtful at this point.

18 inches of snow on the eastern side of Cleveland since Saturday, about 30 inches in some parts. And its been raining all day. I may not work for another 7-10 days.
