Your Words to Live By (warning, possible humor)

When you are teaching new umpires, or involved in rules meetings, what are the words you want to impress on people the most?

I try to use the phrase at the beginning of every meeting:

Q: What do you as an Umpire want every game?
A: Strikes, Outs, and being paid at site, preferably in cash.

Not original, but:

Strikes lead to outs.
Outs lead to innings.
Innings lead to games.
Games lead to cash.
Cash leads to beer.
Beer leads to sleep.
Sleep is good.

Call more strikes.

If this is a serious post, I would say the words to press the most are:
patience
calmness
timing

Most people are nervous when they are starting out, so just relax and act like you have been somewhere before.

Track the ball with your eyes.
Timing is the proper use of eyes

Rookies buy the beer!

Ah, kinda reminds me of the ole explanation, Bob, that drinking gets you to Heaven...

If you drink a lot you get drunk.
When you get drunk you fall down.
When you fall down you pass out.
When you pass out you commit no sin.
When you commit no sin you go to Heaven.

So let's all get drunk and go to Heaven!

I was taught a variation of this:

"Anticipate the play, not the result."
