Actually, in order to work the world series, I think the umpire had to have been on one of the DS crews in order to qualify for the world series assignment, but I am not 100% for sure on this.

An umpire working the World Series can NOT work the LCS, but I believe they have made working the DS a requirement.

Seeing as though the umpires selected for the world series couldn't have worked either last year's WS or this year's LCS. I gather you will see the following:
CC- Tim McClelland 1B- Ted Barrett 2B- Alfonso Marquez 3B- John Hirschbeck LF- Wally Bell RF- Mike Everitt Alts- Gerry Davis & Tim Tschida
