For that matter you can probably ask around and find a decent pair of catcher's guards that will do very well for you. That way you can save your money or invest in the mask and chest protector which are really the important pieces.

I thought maybe getting a pair of the adjustable ones from either +Pos, Champion, or Pro-Nine. All of them have that soft, coushy backing that i want. Whats your thoughts on a pair like that? (also i did try a pair of catchers ones, but i didnt not like them. Somehow they are bigger at the knees, and look odd under my plate pants

No offense, but no one in the entire world is looking at the PU unless he's wearing a shirt faded three shades toward gray, or pants stopping two inches above your ankles. A BU in plate pants is a different story. But behind the dish the most important thing is that you feel protected.
Just my take on it.

I just didnt like how they fit period. Catchers shin guards are not meant to be worn pants, "Umpire shin guards" are not as wide at the knees, there for they fit better.

These should provide more than adequate protection for you. They're priced at just under $60.00.

They come in pairs. Just be sure to tell the customer service people at Gerry Davis Sports not to send you two left leg shin guards. You'll feel off balanced if they do.

*Smack*

The sound you just heard was that of another joke launched over someone's head hitting the wall behind him.

I see humor is not your strong suit. It seemed like an appropriate response to someone who asked if the shin guards were priced $60 a piece.

LLPA13UmpDan Sun Sep 24, 2006 10:00pm

is that true with all shin guards on the internet, or what? Like those WV ones, are they $90 a pair, or $90 each?

SanDiegoSteve Sun Sep 24, 2006 10:01pm

Come on now Dan, enough is enough. Who in the hell would sell you one shin guard. Gotta, I say gotta use your noodle, boy.
