Angel accused of revenge call

Torres accuses Angel H. of making a call because of an argument earlier in the inning.

Screw Torre, and any rat that accuses umpires of cheating.

Edit: See official apology to above named rat.

Now are you saying a umpire couldn't let his emotions and ego get the better of him and call a close play against the team that has upset him???

No, I'm not saying an umpire couldn't, I'm saying that I don't trust rats, as they are always accusing umpires of cheating. It's never their poor coaching, or their team's bad play, it's the umpires screwing them.

I doubt that Angel Hernandez would allow an argument to affect his future judgment. He is trained to move on after altercations, just like the rest of us are.

Yes, some umpires could let their emotions and egos get the better of them and purposely screw at team, but not likely at this high of level.

You see that's the part that kills me.I know most umpires me included let things go but what I've seen of this umpire(and I don't get to see many games) he seems to want to look for trouble and seems to be a bit to aggressive.Just my observation.

My bad, it was Solomon Torres, an official cheese eating rodent player who was accusing Hernandez of cheating, not Joe Torre. My apologies to Joe Torre and his entire rat family.

A couple of thoughts:

If you've seen the play, its kind of rediculous. I don't know how Angel missed it.

But I've missed some too I bet, so therefore...

I don't think its a big deal when a team feels they got the short end of the stick. In any game there are close calls, and invariably one team will end up getting most of them at least in some games. And it can be VERY frustrating for that team.

I'm not blasting Angel here, I'm just sypathisizing with the Pirates. They've lost so many games this year, and they must feel as though the world is against them. They lost this game in part to the umpiring.

All that being said, stuff like this should not be bled to the media. It looks very bad for those who are involved, both umpire and players/coaches. And it disgraces the game that these guys make millions off of.

I can understand why they are upset, its an emotional game. Angel made a mistake, but we all miss some, even those that seem to be obvious. Its a part of the game, unfortunately.

But in the end, as somebody said before, "WAAA WAAA SOMEBODY CALL THE WAMBULANCE"

Come on. Any umpire with dignity does not make revenge calls. Just because an umpire makes a call that replays show was the incorrect call after an argument does not mean its a revenge call. Just as often, the next call goes in that team's favor.

For what purpose? Especially in baseball you do not have a "second chance" to make a "revenge call." I know if I work the bases, I might only get one close play to even make a call. How can I get back at someone when I only get one chance during a game?

It is clear that you will never understand any kind of umpiring or officiating issue.

Peace
