stealing home

Had this happen tonight and had never seen it before. R3 steals home when pitcher is in the wind-up. The count is 3-2 on the batter. As the pitcher pitches R3 slides in and the ball hits him. In this particular sitch, the ball was out of the zone, but what if the ball would have been in the zone. Is it a dead ball strike 3?

Your question is answered by OBR 6.05n. Dead ball strike 3, run scores if less than two out.
