Gregg tributes

Apparently some crews wore black sweatbands, and some did not. The crew working the NY/BOS game were not wearing any, but the crew working the Mets/Dodgers were- the PU even wore the powder blue with band clearly visible against the blue, and all the base umps were wearing jackets..but with sleeves up to show the black bands. I am assuming a more 'permanent' band will be around in short order....and universal.

I had the bases last night, and as my tribute to Eric, the first play at first base I gave his patented "casual banger" punch call for the out.

They had the bands on in the Cincy/St.L games last night. The announcers on Ohio FOX mentioned the passing of Gregg and spoke highly of him. I have noticed the money hungry folks on ebay have his stuff on there for sale. Anything to make a buck.

Monday night Joe West looked close to tears in Colorado, and Ed, Tony, and Jim picked him up before the game. They also wore black armbands, and I would assume they wore them last night too.

Edward S. Rapuano Jr., Anthony J. Randazzo, and James M. Wolf showed what a crew really is, picking up their crew chief, Joseph H. West, when he was grieving over the loss of a former partner who was admired by most in baseball circles.

There, is that better? Can we get back on topic now....
