That's $630 to get started. Then equipment changes, which I am pretty well set on for 2006. I don't need new shinguards but I did ask Santa to bring a pair of GD shingaurds that I will give a try. I guess shinguards are a fetish because this would make the third pair I have and neither of the other two I have are in bad shape. I expect I buy $200 or more worth of clothing per year and another $200 in equipment. I bought a new pair of base shoes in August so I am set for 2006. I bought a long sleeve blue shirt this year, something I had not had before. I used it behind the plate when the temperature was between short sleeves and a jacket so I only used it 4-5 times. And I am aure I have forgotten something but based on these rememberances it costs me over $800 to get started, not counting Santa.
