I was told that the Jim Evans balk video was excellent. Would anyone recommend it and does anyone know a website that I can purchase it from ?. I'm having trouble finding the video! Thanks

It is

A good OBRB video.

He does not explain the differences in FED well at all . . . but that is expected as Jim is the leading instructor in short session classes in umpiring for OBR.

Now this is the real tough part:

"I'm having trouble finding the video!"

OK, I admit it is tough.

I googled "Jim Evans" and it went to his webiste (with no stops).

I scrolled down and found the video in, ohhh, 3 seconds.

Me thinks you didn't try very hard.

Jim does explain the OBR rules and in places where there might be a difference he says to check your local rules, but he does not explain them. Take these hints as tips to check the FED rules.

i ordered a balk video over a month and a half ago, and it has not come in yet.

apparently, the company they use to make the copies of the video sent in a bad batch (or two) and people were complaining of the video quality. so instead of sending out bad videos and having to recall all of them, they are just delaying the shipping of the new orders.

but regardless, it's been a month and a half and after calling them 3 times, i want my damn balk video. the jerks will probably still charge me full price for it too. they're lucky the video is as good as it is. haha

I always thought the "See A Balk, Call A Balk" video was good. It's pretty basic, but explains things well.

Jim Evans balk video is on dvd. I ordered it and it came in about four days. He has it on his website. Steve Mattingly is the pitcher on the dvd and he recommended it to me at a clinic. It is the best video on balks I have ever watched. I would highly recommend it for HS or college.

It actually explains one situation completely contrary to the professional interpretation and what is taught at both pro schools. It is garbage put out by a former MiLB ump whose current claim to fame is playing the referee in the movie "Dodge Ball."

You only need to be on this board for 5 to 10 min to know that "see a Balk Call a Balk" I severly panned on this board. Why would someone with a ever declining reputation seriously bring this video up saying it is good. Man I swear the level of thought versus typing is way of base. I'm tempted to move away from Canada just to escape the slightest possible association to him. But then again you Gotta love the free MEDS, so I'll stay.
