We started last Monday. With the new 11's, we're really streched this year.

If LL is run like other leagues (ie Babe Ruth) the dates for the Districts are set by the district commissioners, working with the local league presidents. Some could be earlier than others and it could easily depend on how many teams are in the district. An 8 team district tournament would start earlier than a 4 team, due to length of time to play it. All that is required is that they have a district champion in time to send to the state tournament. I have seen teams win the district on one day, and be playing in the state the next, although this is generally due to rainouts that prevented the district from ending earlier. I have personally coached in the final game of a district on Wednesday and played in the State on Friday. Coaches would generally like to have a few more days of rest between tournaments, and for travel, etc.
