Some us are tired of you old fat farts that cannot run two feet behind the plate. Then complain when the coaches give you attitude. Maybe there is a reason players are drawing a line in your games. Might have some underlining meaning you are not paying attention to. Oh well, there are a lot of guys like you that are still holding on to your past.

Then go away. Because fat ***, old umpires like yourself, just make me laugh.

Just shows again that you are dumber than a box of rocks. Most LL's I am aware of pay umpires to work. But then again, that is why you are who you are.

Stick to that fantasy of a life you seem to want to convince us you lead.
fall under the radar these days?

In my judgment, those statements, taken in the context of the entire thread, did not warrant deleting. Feel free to disagree. shrug.

Hey Peter

Dare we hope for a new record? I don't have the exact number that would be needed, but if we claim the record I'm sure that he-whose-name-is-not-spoken will tell us if we're wrong.

Could someone explain

...what FYC means? I admit I am new. I have tried to surmise the meaning of this by its use but to no avail.

In my highly limited experience, I must agree with NSump and say that drawing a line in the sand would definitely warrant an ejection from me. That is direspectful, is showing up the umpire in a public way, is arguing balls and strikes and is unsportsmanlike conduct. If I can put four adjectives to that act without even thinking about it, then drawing a line warrants an ejection.

It was related to me by the head coach of my local high school team that an opposing player did not like a called third strike to end the inning and stood at home plate for easily 30 seconds. Would that warrant some action by the plate umpire?

I believe that the record was 117 but since the "search" function has been disable by the administrator, the crazy one cannot prove anything one way or another.

They probably disabled the search function with the crazy one in mind.

Gee, my first post in a long time and it might be a record breaker!

I am just feeling fuzzy all over.

Did you see the game last year I believe it was. I cannot remember the umpire, but there was an argument with manager of the team in the field over balls and strikes. HP ump ejected him and the manager kicked dirt all over home plate, covering it. After the manager left, the HP ump refused to clean off home plate, the catcher asked for the ump brush and cleaned the plate himself. I thought it was hilarious at the time. Whaddya think?
It was Lou Pinella, and the ump got reprimanded for those actions.

And, if I'm not mistaken, that umpire is no longer working in MLB.

Not right

doesn't it seem contrary that in the end it is the childish coaches and players that seem to win.

Ejected for one action but he's going to do a little more because now that he's been ejected... he feels he didn't get the full value for the penalty, so he's going to make one last payment before leaving... and the umpire suffers for the childish tantrum and not feeling obligated to clean up the ejected one's mess.

Just to keep this going a little more...
what about the player that doesn't draw a line but merely reaches across the plate and taps the dirt over where he thinks the pitch was located. Nothing too dramatic but basically making the same comment. Smile? ignore? eject?
