If you like the Honig K1 chest protector you should check out the Pro 9 CPU chest protector. Its the same protector and I've seen it on a few sites selling at $45 to $60.

I too have used an outside chest protector in the past, and I did feel very protected. And for only $42.95 it is much cheaper than a good inside protector.
