Has anybody heard as of yet, as to who MLB has assigned to work the Division Series and LCS's this year? I have few favorites that I would like to see in the playoffs this year.
I think Mark Wegner, Jeff Kellogg, Paul Emmel, John Hirschbeck, Mike Everitt, Tim Welke should get some type of nod to work the post season this year. Any other ideas? |

Has anybody heard inside information as who MLB selected to work the League Championships this year? I have checked the MLB website, and the World Umpires website, and have saw nothing as of yet.
I was wondering if anyone had "good" information to offer to the table? |

2003 World Series Umpires
Thank you for the information. I saw the names last night and again I was quite pleased with the umpiring assignments for the Championship Series as well.
After viewing all the names of the umpires, and realizing that only the Division Series Umpires have the shot at the World Series, here is my list(guess) of who I think will work the 2003 World Series and where I think they will start in Game 1. Ed Montague - (crew chief, plate) John Hirscbeck - 1st Base Tim Welke - 2nd Base Dale Scott - 3rd Base Randy Marsh - LF Line Paul Emmel - RF Line Even though, I would not be suprised if Mark Wegner got his first World Series even with short service time as a full time umpire in the majors. His crew chief this year was Tim Welke, and I talked with Tim back in July, and he really liked the way Mark handled himself on the field and took care of business. But, this list(guess) based on years of service and how I feel has the best chance of the World Series nod this year. We shall wait and see what happens after the Division Series are completed. |
