Batter/Runner-Catcher Interaction
OBR - Batter eludes pitch, however the pitch hits the bat and trickles out in front of home plate. The batter delays running to first while processing what just happened. The catcher starts out of his crouch and a crash occurs at the plate. The catcher wins the scrum and gets to the ball before the pitcher and easily throws to first before the BR gets there.
I had nothing on the play but was wondering if the BR won the scrum and left the catcher on the ground while beating the throw to first? Thanks.
