Batter/Runner-Catcher Interaction

OBR - Batter eludes pitch, however the pitch hits the bat and trickles out in front of home plate. The batter delays running to first while processing what just happened. The catcher starts out of his crouch and a crash occurs at the plate. The catcher wins the scrum and gets to the ball before the pitcher and easily throws to first before the BR gets there.

I had nothing on the play but was wondering if the BR won the scrum and left the catcher on the ground while beating the throw to first?

Thanks.

Without intent, this sounds like: "Rule 6.01(a )(10) Comment (Rule 7.09( j) Comment): When a catcher and batter-runner going to first base have contact when the catcher is fielding the ball, there is generally no violation and nothing should be called."

The rule does not distinguish results on the basis of who wins the scrum.

If the BR "delays" (as you stated), then it will be INT on the BR.

The interp is there and applies only if both BR and F2 leave "immediately"

Fisk had a clear throwing path to second. He simply made a bad throw -- after he made a bad decision.

Notice PU's initial out motion hmmm, did he get away with one? Or was that a poor fair ball motion?
Any rate I agree this is generally nothing.
