Back when I was first starting, we had a short reminder saying, "Bounce When You Can, Hand When You Must".

It reminded us that we had to hand the ball to the inbounder on all frontcourt endline throwins, but could bounce the ball to the inbounder on all other sideline and backcourt throwins.

Then, several years ago, IAABO decided to encourage us to bounce the ball to the inbounder on almost all throwins, including frontcourt endline throwins.

According to the latest issue of IAABO Sportorials magazine, we're going back to our old ways.

After many years of promoting the use of the bounce pass by the Lead, the IAABO Manual now states that the Lead should hand the ball to the thrower on frontcourt end-line throw-ins
