Hay I know it can be frustrating for you when working these type of games but when it comes to men's wreck league games--which I occasionally pick up after my NF season is done---this is what I tell my officiating partner prior to the games:
"let's get them in the bonus early and convert this game into a free-throw shooting contest because we have a running clock--no need to make this affair longer than it needs to be."
And, it is quite normal for the league managers to be intimidated by the players---because they feel as though they have to cow-tow to the paying customers.
