Wikipedia says that Dr. Naismith introduced the game on December 29, 1891, while an article in Mass Moments ( Mass Moments: First Game of Basketball Played in Springfield) states that the first game was on December 21, 1891.
None-the-less, December 2016 is the 125th birthday of our great game of Basketball.
