I started officiating in 1971 and at the time the only ring I wore was my H.S. ring which I did not wear it while officiating because it was not a wedding ring. When I graduated from college started my wearing my Order of Engineer Ring and wearing my college ring in place of my H.S. ring and like my H.S. ring I did not wear them while officiating because it was not a wedding ring.

I was still single when I graduated from college but when I did get married I did not wear my wedding ring while officiating because if the players could not wear jewelry neither should I. My wife of 34 years has always believed that me not wearing my wedding ring while officiating is the correct thing to do.
