I still work JV and 9th/10th grade games since they have no bearing on post-district play. The coaches at the other schools are ok with that. Its a good way to work games in the area while avoiding a conflict of interest.

I retired from my home town school system about ten years ago. I taught science, and coached soccer, and basketball, at the middle school. My three kids participated in various high school sports, including basketball. They graduated about ten years ago. I've blocked off my hometown high school for the past nine years. I unblocked the high school for this season, after asking, and then getting the blessing, of my assigner. The boys basketball coach, the girls basketball coach, and all their assistants, as well as the athletic director, have all moved on.
