NFHS - BOO Play & Penalty
No outs, R1 on 1st. It's B2's turn to bat, but B3 bats out of order and hits into a 6-4-3 double play. Defense now appeals BOO and UIC upholds the appeal.
How many outs are there now and who should be batting next.
I know that by rule 7-1-2 Penalty 2, "all outs stand", but our state interpreter thinks this is a triple play. I think the fact that the improper batter's turn at bat is "negated" causes the out on R1 to stand, B2 declared out for failing to bat, and B3 becomes the next batter with two outs.
Does anyone out there know the correct NFHS interpretation?
