But I saw a crew last night where IMO PU was lazy and did not move from behind plate and BU was busting her butt to get there and was in poor position to make the call. She made IMO the right call but it was hard and if the play was closer looked like she would have a difficult time getting a good angle. So I quess I am just asking what do you all do on this type of play? And if you have BU take the call do you cut inside the diamond to save steps or do you still run outside of second makeing you farther behind the play?
Unless the passed ball traps the umpire on the 1B side of home, the PU has the call at 3B.

If BU must make call, they should hustle to a point around 9 o'clock to get an angle and avoid making the call from behind the play.
