Right before the break, I'm working a BV and my partner tears his achilles at the start of the 2nd quarter. It was a two man game, but luckily enough it was also a tournament. So I had a couple choices, I could wait til the later crew arrived and pull one of those referee's or I could pull a referee from the JV game who happened to be sitting in the stands watching.
So I asked the 2 JV referee's if either one of them wanted to work. One of them responded and we finished out the game with no issues.
Now the crazy part was, we were suppose to get $58.00 for a 2 man game. So when the paychecks hit, each of the 3 officials that took part in the game got $50.00, that's our 3 man fee. I didn't bother to question it, even though it clearly made no sense.
