Wow! I haven't done ASA in a few years. When did this change?
The ball is basically dead and the runner cannot advance?
Is this still true if the 4th ball is a passed ball or wild pitch? If no one has control of the ball the runner cannot turn and continue to 2nd?
I could see this if the ball went out of play, but it seems wrong if the catcher is searching for the ball or standing there holding it.
