Romano, the foul must be called unsportsmanlike not technical. Technical foul is a "no contact foul". From time to time these type of games will happen.

It does not matter whether the game is being played under NFHS, NCAA Men's/Women's, or FIBA rules, the foul is an unsportsmanlike technical foul. The key is how the ball is put into play after the free throws are shot.

Under NFHS rules, the team who shot the free throws gets the ball for a throw-in at the division line opposite the S/T Table. The arrow is set toward the thrower's opponent's basket when the ball is placed at the disposal of the thrower for the throw-in.

Under NCAA Men's/Women's and FIBA rules the ball is put into play after the technical foul free throws with a jump ball.
