Nice Start to the Game
Always nice to start a game with a rule adjudication about which both coaches have no clue.
Jump ball. Batted around. Tied up by two players outside the circle. Held ball called. Partner and I specify a jump ball between those two players. Coaches, of course, insist that their big men rejump. After explaining it briefly, they both allow us to get on with it, albeit with a sort of a blonde deer in the headlights look for the first 30 seconds or so of the game.
Nailed it. No real contentious interactions the entire game. Not sure that this is why, but perhaps it contributed in some small way.
(Seventh such sitch I can remember over the last five years or so...)
