Not that anybody seems to care but, my quotes were from "Inherit The Wind". This was the movie based on the "Scopes Monkey Trial". It starred Spencer Tracy, Fredric March, Gene Kelly, Harry Morgan, Claude Akins and Dick York.

Tracy played Henry Drummond, based on Clarence Darrow - March played Matthew Harrison Brady, based on William Jennings Bryan - York played Bertram Cates, based on the school teacher John Scopes and Gene Kelly played E.K. Hornbeck, based on newspaperman H.L. Mencken.

The movie (and the play it was derived from) was a fairly factual account of the trial in the 1920s in Dayton, TN (Hillsboro TN in the movie) in which a HS science teacher was arrested for violating a state law prohibiting the teaching of evolution.
