I have held my tongue on this one because I am from Cincinnati and I am sure Kitts has forgotten more about officiating than I have even learned in my short career.
That said, IMHO, the push foul was missed and traveling was called. Bad call but every game, including even some of mine, has them
At that point, Coach Huggins was jumping and flapping his arms apparently attempting to defy gravity. Having watched a lot of their games, he gets a "little" excited. Next thing you know he's whacked twice and gone. We're talking 30 - 60 seconds max.
No Doubt the first T was earned. Doesnt anyone think the 2nd was too quick and probably wouldnt normally be called? I know it's not cool to talk about specific officials but I am curious to discuss the game management side on this so no offense intended to Mr. Kitts.
Things we don't know....
Does Kitts and Huggins have a history?
Did Huggins get in Kitts' ear in the first half?
Maybe Kitts is "By The Book" because of the 6 player deal.
Bottom line...better decision making and shot selection by UC in the last 5 minutes really made the difference in their loss and not the T's. Still, I wonder if he had it to do over again would Kitts slam the hammer again?
